Beyond Chastity Belts

Study after study reveals that access to contraception, including EC, does not increase risky sexual behavior or the frequency of said behavior.

What the research DOES prove is that rates of unintended pregnancies, STD's and subsequent abortions decrease.

In a recent op-ed, Nicholas Kristoff writes: "Expanding access to contraception and making Barr Laboratories' emergency contraceptive Plan B available for nonprescription sales would help to prevent "hundreds of thousands" of unplanned pregnancies in the U.S. annually and would reduce the U.S. abortion rate".

Gee, Mister. You mean if I could prevent the pregnancy in the first place, then I wouldn't need an abortion later? You truly are a genius.

According to the Guttmacher Institute, EC prevented 51,000 abortions in 2000.

If Bu$h wants abortion rates to decrease, he would advocate for increased access to EC right? It would seem that logic doesn't make it's way into Bu$h's non-existent brain. But, dirty sex does. Since this medication is aligned with sex, then damn it to hell! And all you sinners who use it as well. Dirty whores, the lot of you.

"President Bush's [FDA]", "apparently fearing that better contraception will encourage promiscuity," has stalled efforts to increase access to EC, which can prevent pregnancy if taken up to 72 hours after sexual intercourse".

Hhmm, the FDA really IS a cult with appointed elders. And Bu$h is David Koresh.
Last I checked, the FDA was supposed to act based on science, fact and reason. I wasn't aware they were responsible for the spiritual righteousness of our country. That is Howard Stern's job.

Get out of my bed, you weren't invited.
