GOP Presidential Candidates United Against Roe v. Wade
During the May 3rd Republican Presidential Primary debate, all 10 candidates stated their support for a repeal of Roe v. Wade. NARAL Pro-Choice America president Nancy Keenan said:
"Even former Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who has professed pro-choice beliefs in the past, conceded that he would not defend Roe v. Wade and said that it would be 'okay' if the Supreme Court overturned the landmark decision."
Kennan went on to say: "The bottom line is elections matter. We are committed to protecting the gains we made in 2006, and we will elect even more pro-choice candidates and a pro-choice president in November 2008"
The candidates' statement at the debate are consistent with their responses to the Supreme Court decision on the Federal Abortion Ban last month.
