Petition For EC

In 2003, I signed a petition calling on the FDA to approve the-morning-after pill, also known as Plan B, for over-the-counter use.

Wondering why none of us heard the outcome? Well up until now, there hasn't been one. Thanks to some serious partisan pressure from anti-choice leaders and the Bush Administration (who nominated the current and previous 2 FDA commissioners into power), the FDA has been in a voting stale mate for over three years.

Sign the petition urging the FDA to follow through on its promise!

A brief history on this politically tumultuous process of denying women access to EC: Despite FDA experts' own findings that Plan B is a safe and effective contraceptive method for women AND their recommendation that it be approved for over-the-counter use in 2004, anti-choice politicians have successfully delayed the FDA vote since, eschewing multiple threats from Congress to make a decision.

Sign the petition urging the FDA to follow through on its promise!
