New York Nixes Gay Marriage
New York’s highest court ruled 4-2 Thursday that gay marriage is not allowed under state law.
Boo, New York. Boo.
Judge Robert Smith said New York’s marriage law clearly limits marriage to between a man and a woman and any change in the law should come from the state legislature. "We do not predict what people will think generations from now, but we believe the present generation should have a chance to decide the issue through its elected representatives,” Smith wrote.
A perfect case to prove the importance of voting. Legislators not making the changes you wish to see? Vote them out. Use your voice. Be heard. Demand change. Be the change.
