Here's One For The Abstinence Fetishers: Oral Sex Linked To Throat Cancer

Yesterday brought some bad health news: According to a new study, certain strains of HPV could cause throat cancer.

Also, from Google News, researchers have linked oral sex to a type of throat cancer, saying that those who engaged in the sexual act with more than 6 partners over the course of their lifetime were 9 times more likely to develop oropharyngeal cancer. Hhmm, seems odd to me. Then why aren't we seeing more prostitutes with throat cancer, gay men, girls who attend those "blow job" parties? And why is it more than 6 partners? What if a wife blows her husband a million times? Does that count? Is she of lower risk because it was with the same partner? I'm a bit skeptical here. Its a loaded gun for the Abstinence fanatics.

Oh, and I'd like to point out that the study linked both fellatio and cunnilingus to an increase in throat cancer occurrences.
